British Olympic equestrian team longlist

A strong British team has been longlisted as they go into defending their gold medal team performances in dressage and jumping. They also won a silver medal in Eventing at the London games.

The British have announced their 2016 Olympic longlist. All riders from 2012’s gold-medal-winning dressage team are named, and Peter Charles is the only 2012 rider missing from this year’s jumping team (once again, the Whitaker name is there in numbers: John, Michael and Robert). The eventing team is also the same, with the exception of Zara Phillips and Mary King, who are not on the list.
