We are very sad to learn of the sudden death of loved equestrian coach, Stephen Field.
Stephen was a pony club coach and team manager for the Wairarapa Wellington Area. He recently coached the Wellington Eventing team at the NZ Pony Club Championships. Aiden Viviers has been a regular pupil and went on, under Stephen’s guidance, to win the AI section. Stephen also coached at the Hutt Valley RDA.
Stephen has been influential in many riders’ lives and will be missed dearly. He gave a lot of his time and considerable knowledge to help young riders and many of them have paid tribute to him on social media.
Jess Viviers said this about Stephen on her Facebook page: “You were the best. The best coach. The best mentor. The best road trip singer. The best teacher. The best bloke.”
Our sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
