New Zealander eventers were a busy lot all around the world this weekend. We start with the off-shore coverage and finish with the results and beautiful photos (thanks to Take the Moment) at a wet Te Rapa.

The Whatley Manor International Horse Trials at Gatcombe

At one of the UK’s most beautiful venues, there were huge fields in each of the twelve classes. Here’s the long list of top ten placings by Kiwis.

Dan Jocelyn had a great win on Beaucatcher in the CIC2*, adding just 0.4 to his dressage score. It was a tough event with about a third of the entrants not finishing. Dan was also fifth on Blackthorn Cruise in the Intermediate Section D.

Neil Spratt had a busy and successful weekend, ninth on Galway Bay Echo in the CIC2*, fifth on Director General in the CIC1*, fifth on Emotion in the Intermediate Section E, ninth on First Lancer in the Open Novice Section L and eighth on Willow Lancer in the Novice section G. That’s Neil in the tweet below (bottom left).

Jonelle Price was fourth on Cekatinka in the Open Intermediate Section F and fourth on Obos Impressive in the Intermediate Section E.

Tim Price had a good win on Falco IV in the CIC1*, adding just 0.4 to his 39.4 dressage score to finish at the top of the 101 competitors in that class alone. He was also fifth on Koh I Noor in the Intermediate Section C.

Jesse Campbell was ninth in the CIC1* on Fado.

Allerton Park (UK)

James Avery had a good win on Cadillac in the Open Intermediate, beating Caroline Powell in the process. Caroline was third on Flying Finish and fourth on Chance Encounter IV. James was also second in the Intermediate Novice on Legaland Cooley, and Caroline was second on Silver Touch in a Novice class.

Ballindenisk International (Ireland)

It was a wet weekend for Irish eventing. Jock Paget and Angus Blue had led all the way in the CCI3* until the show jumping, when two rails cost them the win. They finished second to Michael Owen on The Highland Prince. Lucy Jackson was fourth on Bosun.

WEC’s One-Day Horse Trial at Te Rapa
