Jock Paget has demonstrated an uncanny ability to stay in the saddle in the most alarming situation before, but this amazing sequence – showing a near miss with his horse Bing Bong – is next level!
The pictures were taken by Jane Thompson at the Puhinui Horse Trials on Saturday, and Jock and Bing Bong were at the time leading the CCI3* class. Extraordinarily, not only did they both remain upright after a stumble through the ditch in the middle of a coffin combination, but they managed to get themselves in the right place to jump the third element, a few strides away, and went on to complete a clear round!
