The cross country was a challenge and it certainly had an influence on the leaderboard today in Oamaru as the 40 teams in the Springston Trophy enjoyed an action-packed day.

There were plenty of places that the competitors had problems on the Richard Hardwick designed course, but there were also some beautiful rounds.

The View Hill Pony Club certainly has showed their dominance in this competition, hitting the lead today after having to settle for runner up after the dressage phase. They have all three of their teams in the top six but it is the View Hill Red, probably the pre-competition favourites, who hold a narrow lead over the Halswell Crusaders, who were the leaders after dressage.
