Tim Price scored a great win on Falco in the Land Rover CCI1* at Tattersalls, finishing on his dressage score. He is also leading the CCI2* on Kincooley Cruising, and is fourth in the same class on Pats Jester, after producing two clear rounds within the time.
James Avery and Vitali had a rail in the six-and seven-year-old one-star show jumping, slipping down to fourth, which is still a great effort in a quality field of 50. The class was won by Oliver Townend with William Fox-Pitt second and third.
James is also sitting in ninth place in the CCI2* under 25 on Optimus Prime but the 20 faults incurred on Zazu dropped him down to 28th, with show jumping still to come.
Sir Mark Todd usually does very well at Tattersalls, but isn’t having such a good run this year, and retired Obos Colombus in the CCI3*. That is being led by Vittoria Panizzon on Chequers Play the Game from Piggy French on Quarrycrest Echo. Ten riders went clear and inside the time from a field of 31. Sir Mark also picked up 22.8 penalties on Dusk Till Dawn in the CCI2* but had a great round on McClaren and is 15th after two phases.
In the George Mernagh Memorial CICO3*, Tim Price had one show jumping time fault on Ascona M and is in fourth place. The class is led by Frenchman Luc Chateau. Blyth Tait didn’t start Bear Necessity in the show jumping, but had two rails on Darius and 10 faults with Leo Distinction; he is currently 20th and 23rd. The cross-country for this class is on tomorrow.
