There were good entries in the Auckland Anniversary Horse Trial run by Auckland Equestrian Sports at Woodhill Sands. Megan Finlayson won the main class, after posting a great dressage score of 20.5 (which is just under 80%) and finishing on that! Megan also had a young horse, Fair Lady, out for the first time and finished a creditable fourth in the CNC65.

Briarna Haigh won our sponsored class, the CNC105 Restricted, with the super skewbald Go Commando. Briarna finished eighth after dressage, but with clear jumping inside the time in both the other phases, came out on top, 1.2 penalties in front of Peta Kuluz on PK Pure Zing with Phoebe Kirk and Telemagic just 0.1 behind Peta in third.

In the NPD Maintenance CNC105, Lee Gabriel on Parkridge Perfik led from the dressage phase to the finish flags, a whopping 9.1 penalty points ahead of the rest of the field.

It was also good to see Juliet Wood there with her team of youngsters, and the very capable rider ended up winning the SportsHub CNC95 on Waitangi Amazon. A number of riders made the trip down from the north, including recently-returned intrepid adventurer, Chloe Phillips-Harris who had minor placings on two young horses.
