
Katie Laurie is off to a great start to the season with a victory in the Pukahu Grand Prix on Dunstan Lucca. She won by a very narrow margin, going last in the jump-off of 12. Dunstan Lucca flew around in a time of 31.72, which was just enough to head off Helen McNaught on Carnutelabryere. Georgia Massey also showed great talent, coming home in a time of 33.20 with Larinium IS. Claire Wilson and McMillans Tipsey were fourth, a clear round also in a time of 33.58. Lucy Fell and Letitbe GNZ were fifth, with Katie sixth on Dunstan Breeze.

Amanda Steele from Dannevirke won the Equissage Therapy Pony Grand Prix on Jakaranda with the only clear in the first round. Ruby Mason on Mr Acho was second with the fastest four-fault round. Other four faulters, in order of finishing, were Olivia Ahlborn on Aorangi Ragtime (3rd) Sarah West on Showtym Cruiser (4th) and Tyla Hacket on IamwhatIam (5th).

Sinead Dolman won the Lincoln University Junior Riders class on Kiwi Silverkee after recording the fastest time (36.2) in the jump-off. Second was Blake Davies on T.M. Marjay, also clear with a 39.22 time. Brayden Aarts (Binverta) was third, with Sarah West (Bayley Road) fourth.
The Caledonian Holdings Amateur class was won by Tim Pearce on Oracle WT. The East Coast Performance Horses five-year-old horse series had three tying for the win: Claudia Thomas on Amber TELR, Caroline Coop on Budgie, Caroline Parkes on Kiwi Corona all got the maximum points available.
In the six-year-old series, sponsored by Mitavite, there were 10 combinations with the maximum points available. Three of the horses were ridden by Helen Kippen (Bandito NZPH, Be Mine NZPH, Bezazz NZPH). Julie Davey had two with JD Ruby and Ngahiwi Stone. Robert Steele on Delta Blue also did well, as did Wendy Jacobs on Double J Breeze On, Matt Irvine on La Perla, John Maclennan on Ngahiwi Para and Maurice Beatson on Roman Warrior.
