It was a bit damp underfoot in morning, but the weather improved continually.
There was a lot happening all around the show, the trade stands had some great specials and there seemed to be lots of people walking around carrying rather large shopping bags.
We were out cruising around – caught up with some of the action in the various sections and saw a few ribbons being awarded.
The Rising Star Saddle Hunter Horse over 163 was won by a very happy Claire Inglis on her beautiful Santango. High Class with Natalie Toeke was second, Guess MH with Allie Harper was third, He’s Absolutely Fabulous with Jaime Rushbrooke fourth and Ben Lott riding the grey Irish Stallion, Ballineen Blue Mountain was fifth.
In the Rising Star Show Pony 138cm and under, Easdale Escapade ridden by Janine Palmer won, Greenly Moloney with Georgie Wilson was second, Windermere Step n Out with Liam Murphy was third and Beechcroft Glamour, with Penelope Johnson, was fourth.
The International Animal Health Products Rising Star Show Pony over 138 and not exceeding 148cm was won by Fairview Showtime (Ashleigh Tawhara), second was Tirohanga Touch Wood (Brooke Bennett), KS Paint Show (Melanie-Jane Jones) third and Armdale Herbert (Kelli Frewin) fourth.
