Taupo Trot Up Gallery

Corey Wood was definitely one of the best dressed in his blue suit

The first trot up is complete at the NRM Taupo Three Day Event, with horses looking well. It certainly wasn’t a Badminton in terms of the fashion options taken by the riders, in fact the overall standard of turnout of the riders was a bit dull! Jeans seemed to be favoured by many, which is a tad disappointing. We are hoping for more on Sunday.

All the horses, bar Braxton Boy (Annabelle Jones) in the CCI1*, passed the horse inspection although there were a few sent to the hold box, but accepted when re-presented.

Here’s our gallery of the standouts from Taupo!

The Young Event Horse class was a tussle between two new mums but in the end, it was Sarah Dalziell-Clout who triumphed with In The Moment. He is four, and is a bay thoroughbred gelding by Raise The Flag (GB) and out of Zenagen (NZ), bred by Mrs LW Spence. Sarah also won the best four-year-old prize as well as the best thoroughbred prize.

Waitangi Imak, ridden by Juliet Wood, was the best five-year-old, and runner up in the class. He is a Holsteiner x by Cassini II and out of Waitangi Laptop and is owned by Joss Bayly.

The best mare was won by Trick Key, ridden by Dannie Lodder, and bred by Trevor McKee. She is a four-year-old thoroughbred, by Man of Power and has won a couple of 80cm classes this season.
