Brackenfield Hunt gallery

It was a beautiful day for a hunt in North Canterbury.  The Brackenfield Hunt met at Graham McClintock’s property near Cheviot before heading for the hills on the nearby sheep farms.

Eighty-three-year-old Graham joined the hunt for the first time this season, after having a break from his equestrian pursuits because of a shoulder injury – thanks to a ram! There were other members of the McClintock family in the field too and the hunt went over the McClintock farms as well as the Stevenson’s property, The Gums.

Mark Nalder was the Master for the day, riding Icebreaker, who had a very successful year show jumping with Mark’s daughter Tayler. Tayler was also in the field on her palomino pony. Brent Jury, who we regularly see in the eventing competitions, also took part, on a young horse.

The huntsman is Charles Miller-Brown.

We hope you enjoy our photos from the morning. All photos taken by Jane Thompson
