William Willis had the biggest win in his history at Horse of the Year today when he took out the Virbac Equine Norwood Gold Cup on Dollar Roll MS.

William was one of just three riders who managed to post a clear in the first round over the difficult course designed by Germany’s Werner Deeg. Vicki Wilson and Caretino Jewel were first to go in the jump-off and had the first of the last double down, in a time of 44.21. William  took an early rail, and cut many corners around the rest of the course to finish in 42.24. Katie Laurie and Dunstan On the Point Sandy went for a clear, going carefully and slowly, but unfortunately took a rail in that last double too, giving the win to William.

This is the first major title win for William.
