Magic McVeans

The McVean family have had a huge influence on New Zealand show jumping, and the World Cup show this weekend at Woodhill Sands was yet another example of this.

Not only did Katie Laurie (nee McVean) clean up every class she went in, including winning the last round of the World Cup and the World Cup Series, but her father and coach, Jeff, also coaches many other riders. These include Briar Burnett-Grant, Leeshelle Small, and Emma Watson and all three had great success over the weekend too.  Between them they won the Young Rider, the Junior Rider, the Pony Grand Prix and the 7 year old classes – all helped by their fabulous coach.

To acknowledge and celebrate this wonderful family, we’ve put together this photo gallery from the World Cup show.
