The New Zealanders competing at Houghton International Horse Trials overnight have had a good start.
Tim Price is in fourth equal place on Pats Jester in the CCI1*, but will be even more pleased with his current first place in the CCI2* on Danturano K. His score of 38.7 gives him a 3.3 lead from Harry Meade.
Two New Zealanders are tied for eighth place in the two-star on a score of 45.4; Lizzie Brown on her lovely Havanna Van Castanaehof and Lucy Jackson, riding Mercury Bay. Jonelle is in 12th place, Caroline 15th and Neil Spratt in 19th equal place.
In the CICO3*, Gemma Tattersall leads on Chico Bella P on a great score of 32.7, well in front of Sam Griffiths in second place on 41. Caroline Powell is sixth equal on Onwards And Upwards on 45.6, but only a small part of the field have done their dressage, with the rest of the Kiwi Nations Cup team still to ride.
Sir Mark on Obos Colombus and Jesse Campbell on Cleveland will start mid-field, with Tim Price anchoring the team on Bango.
