Amanda’s amazing antics

Awesome stickability saves here by Amanda Pottinger, who went on to win the NRM CCI3* at Taupo.

Amanda Pottinger’s win in the NRM CCI3* class at the NRM National Three Day Event nearly didn’t happen, because of a bit of a blip in the water jump. We knew it was a close shave but when we saw Barbara Thomson’s photos, we were amazed!

Amanda herself said that her round on Just Kidding “wasn’t as polished as I would like. He buckled in the water. I don’t know how I stayed on. I had no stirrups, I was all over the show, I got soaked, my saddle got soaked, everything got soaked.”

We asked her if she had any idea what it was that saved her. “I do lean right back going into water. I am very much ‘sit up’ and I think that was the only reason I stayed on. I really thought I was gone.”

Well whatever it was, Amanda, it worked! Check it out. Well done to Barbara Thomson, awesome images.
